— After the Crash: a play about brain injury
After the Crash was commissioned by Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and University of Toronto and was developed as part of a research project called “Research-based theatre about traumatic brain injury”. The play was based on focus group transcripts of traumatic brain injury survivors, their family members and health care providers, speaking about their experiences with brain injury recovery within the Ontario health care system. This hour long play uses multiple components of a theatrical production, allowing imagery and movement to reflect the research as well as spoken text and scene work.
Collaborators on the project include (in alphabetical order): Dr Angela Colantonio, Dr Julie Gilbert, Julia Gray*, Steven James*, Dr Michelle Keightley, Dr Pia Kontos, Sarah Machin Gale*, Melina Nacos*, Mark Prince*, and Kate Rossiter (*appears with permission of Canadian Actors Equity Association).
